SMITH RIVER

The Smith River is one of our state’s best trout fisheries, renowned for its prolific insect hatches and large, eager trout! Best of all, the decades of restoration work by Smith River Chapter to restore the Smith River habitat and improve its health through tree plantings and other volunteer projects has helped make it even better.
LOCAL RIVER #2 NAME

If you are seeking solitude, scenery and abundant, wild trout, the RIVER NAME is the place to be, especially in the early DATE RANGE! Since YEAR, the NAME Chapter has helped care for the RIVER NAME through community science, support of improved state fisheries management and annual restoration projects. The entire length of RIVER NAME is open year-round to catch and release fishing with flies or artificial lures only and only single, barbless hooks. Despite the low pressure, these wild SPECIES trout are finnicky and spooky and require a stealthy approach and accurate, delicate casts to fool. Be sure to have plenty of FLY NAME on hand when you go. Access to RIVER NAME is through the PARK NAME off ROAD NAME in TOWN NAME. After parking, take the TRAIL NAME to the left and follow it to and along the stream. Fishing is open from DATE to DATE and along with a STATE NAME fishing license you must also have a SPECIAL PERMIT NAME (IE TROUT STAMP) to fish in the special regulation waters.
